General Rules

Regulations for Students

Strict regularity, implicit obedience, courtesy in speech and conduct and cleanliness of dress are some expectations from every student. Students must strictly conform to the regulations laid down in this regard.

Movement to classrooms between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly manner. Running, playing, whistling or shouting inside the school building is not permitted. No student will loiter in the school campus after the respective bells have rung. Student should not enter in other classes without permission.

Punctuality is essential at all times. Entry of students is not permitted after the commencement of the school as per the school timings. Disciplinary action will be taken against the students who are habitually late to the school.

Students must come to school in neatly laundered uniform and polished shoes. Their nails must be trimmed regularly. Boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals. Long hair, pony tail, spiked and styled hair, colouring of hair and shaving of head other than for religious purposes are strictly forbidden. For the girls, shoulder length hair or longer to be neatly tied up in plaits. Skirts should be worn Knee-length.

Students should bring their Hand Book every day and text books and note books according to the Time-table. All students must wear uniform and identity tag inside the school campus.

Classrooms and the school premises shall be kept neat and tidy. All waste papers must be put in the proper receptacle. Students must make a point of picking up and disposing of litter and caring for the appearance of the school.

No Student is allowed to go out of the school premises during the school hours without the permission of the principal. Half-a-day and short-time leaves in between the school hours should be avoided for security reasons.

It is compulsory for the students to participate in the school assembly and the physical exercise daily. The assembly starts before fifteen minutes of the first period. After the assembly all must go to the classes in keeping line by keeping silence.

As regular attendance is an important element for successful work, no leave is granted except for serious reasons and that too only on the previous written application from the parents. A minimum of 75% of attendance of the total working days of the academic year is a pre-requisite for promotion.

Continuous absence of students for 15 working days without sufficient reason will be considered equivalent to the withdrawal of the student from school causing removal of his/her names from the rolls. Requests for leave on medical ground must be supported by a certificate of medical practitioner.

Appearing for the final examination is necessary for promotion. Promotions are granted on the basis of the whole year’s performance. To pass in any subject a student will have to secure at least 40% of marks.

No student is allowed to bring mobile phone, laptop, tab, camera or any other electronic gadget to the school without prior permission; if found in possession they will be confiscated from the school without any prior notice. No student is allowed to drive a motorized vehicle to school. Strict action against defaulters will ensue if this act of indiscipline is repeated.

Private tuition is not generally encouraged and students are not allowed to take private tuition in any subject from the members of the school staff.

English is the medium of communication in the school premises. In order to acquire proficiency in spoken English, all students must compulsorily converse in English during the school hours.

Every student is expected to take part and co-operate in various school activities such as cultural programmes, sports, games, drill etc. No requests for exception will be entertained, except for medical reasons.

Students shall be responsible for the safe custody of their belongings. As a precautionary measure, it is suggested that they have their names inscribed on articles like tiffin carriers, umbrellas, school bags, pencil box etc.

Students are not supposed to bring money to the school. Carrying valuable articles like expensive watches, fancy stationery items, items of jewellery and electronic gizmos to school is strictly prohibited. The school authorities will not be responsible for the loss of articles of students.

Care must be taken of all the school property and no student should damage or destroy desks, chairs or other furniture or draw anything on the walls or in no way damage the things belonging to others. Any reported damage will be dealt with strict action. In case of vandalism, the cost of damage incurred will be fully recovered with fine from the defaulter.

The school has zero tolerance policy for physical violence/bullying by any student and use of alcohol, tobacco and narcotic drugs by any student even outside school premises. No chewing gum or stimulant is permitted anywhere in the campus.

Irregular attendance, continual neglect of studies, disobedience, unjustified long absence, disrespect towards any members of the staff, malpractice at examinations, thieving, objectionable immoral behavior and other serious intentional offences will attract suspension or strict disciplinary action from the school.

The principal reserves the right to waive any of the rules contained in this prospectus without assigning any reasons for his or her action and it will be binding on parents and students. Matters not covered by the existing rules will be at the discretion of the principal.
